Erik Telford returns to Monterey to perform selections from his critically-acclaimed debut album, Kinetic. Telford grew up in Pacific Grove and now resides in Austin, TX. This will be his first performance in California in over a decade and promises to be a fantastic night of original jazz.

Enjoy an evening of jazz with L.A. based musicians, Matt Otto and his quartet featuring blues prodigy, Storm Nilson.This Quartet focuses on original material written by each of its members.The purpose of the group is to allow each player an outlet for self expression through composition and improvised performance in a supportive and comfortable musical environment.Storm Nilson has studied with jazz legends Charlie Haden and Larry Koonse at California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, graduating in December 2004. His musical inspiration is nurtured through his opportunities to play with some of the greats such as Charlie Haden, Steve Cardenas and Wynton Marsalis.

This event will feature some of the peninsula’s top talent, from the voice of popular actor Taelen Thomas to unique jazz improvisation by bassist Heath Proskin and flutist Richard Mayer to vocal and original music performed by pianist, composer, author, jazz journalist Bill Minor.

Wave Street Studios will be hosting The Gail Dobson Septet, a regular performer at the Monterey Jazz Festival, for a live perfomance/recording/broadcast of three generations of jazz.Gail Dobson exemplifies the spontaneous spirit of jazz: the deep joy of making music in the moment, surrounded both in the band and in the audience by family and friends.
