Red Beans & Rice is a Monterey Bay based blues band specializing in up-tempo danceable blues forms. Since the band’s debut in 1993, their blend of Chicago, Texas swing, Louisiana, contemporary and original music has garnered them numerous awards.Performing throughout the West Coast at various Festivals and venues, Red Beans & Rice has shared the stage with some of the greats in blues and has released four self-produced albums containing their unique original compositions as well as some covers of lesser known classics.

Simon Russell: Vocalist, Pianist, Composer and Producer. Has been playing for the last two decades in venues all over the Bay Area, in hundreds of bands all over the world. His music has a peaceful, soulful harmony which has been known to send chills down your spine.
Simon is currently working with the James Brown Band, Pete Escovedo, David Grissom, Billy Johnson, Marzuki Grinage, Herman Wilson, Ceddricke Dennis, Nate Pitts, Desiree Parker, La Tanya Carmical, Rob Watson, Roy Harper, and Bill Diaz. |

The four-piece band has made the transformation from a popular funk formula in the South Bay Area Alternative Rock scene to a Dub Rock household name. They combine the styles of Reggae, Soul & Rock N’ Roll. This infusion of music is inspired by artists like Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steely Dan & Bob Marley. 880 South has been showcased with headliner artists such as Slightly Stoopid, Fishbone, the Expendables & Bargain Music.

Bay Area singer-songwriter Saul Kaye writes soulful and fun music that is as appealing in its accessibility as it is in its versatility. Jumping styles with easy confidence like Dave Matthews, Bruce Hornsby or Sting, Kaye bounces out the reggae on one track and brings funk just as deftly on the next. Repeated listens call to mind artists like Lyle Lovett who appear just as comfortable in front of an orchestra as he would solo acoustic in a Sacramento coffee shop.
Kaye’s adroit guitar work threads it way throughout the songs, playfully interacting with the keys – a scenario that gives the songs their pop flavor.
