Located ½ block from the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California, Wave Street Studios is a state-of-the-art, privately owned and operated high definition television production facility. We produce high quality television programming and professional CDs and DVDs. (See below for info on our recording and broadcasting technology.)
Artists who have contracts with major record labels as well as independent artists perform and record at Wave Street. Our business model is as unique as our new studio is beautiful. Simply stated, we partner with artists to make top-of-the-line entertainment programming and merchandise to sell to the public. Within a week after performing before our live studio audience, artists will have a professional live performance DVD to sell as a digital download, or as an MP3, CD, or DVD.
We provide Monterey Bay area locals and visitors with a unique behind-the-scenes experience as part of the studio audience for our live television broadcasts. The studio audience is a critical component to creating our signature sound, and to supporting you, the artists who are performing at Wave Street.

If you are touring the Monterey Bay area, please drop by the studio. We are located at 774 Wave Street, Monterey, CA 93940. Our facility is across the street from the Whaling Station restaurant; and just down the stairway, our studios are located right on the Monterey Bay recreation trail.
Recording and Broadcasting Technology
Wave Street Studios is a unique broadcast and production facility. It would be hard to find a comparable integration of design and technology.
The facility was literally built from scratch. Almost all construction elements were fabricated by us—including doors, windows, floors, and most of the architectural details.
The technical specifications for controlling light and sound, of supreme importance, were an absolutely integral part of the facility design.
Wave Street Studios employs the latest digital recording technologies for both audio and video, and we record in both high and standard definition. We have the capacity to record five simultaneous video angles and twenty-four simultaneous audio channels.
All recorded media is a digital tapeless format, ingested directly into computer workstations for post-production. The finished product can be a standard CD or a high definition Blu-ray disc. We have also implemented broadband streaming technologies. Real-time audio and video can be transmitted to any place on the globe instantaneously.
When designing Wave Street Studios, since the output of sound and video was of foremost importance, it was decided from the beginning that only the best would be good enough. For a small-sized studio (2,400 square feet), we are amazingly well-equipped. We have five professional high definition Panasonic VariCams, mounted on various jibs and cranes. These are operated by skilled camera crew, managed by an expert video director and a live switch operator.
Room acoustics are handled by a forty-eight channel live board to supply multiple mixes for musicians, main PA, surround speakers, sub system, and the butt-kicker speakers attached directly to a ballet-quality sprung dance floor.
Theatrical lighting is supported with 130 channels of computerized color-changing faders, spot lights, and wall washes.
Productions can also be filmed before a wall-to-wall green screen to allow computer-animated moving or static backdrops, while the audience takes in these effects on in-room high definition video monitors.
